Sick Day

I have Rosie home today nursing a cold. As is the rule in our house on a sick day, Rosie gets to choose which film she'd like to see so we are currently watching The Sound of Music on this wet and windy Monday. The housework will just have to wait.

Drip Drip Drip

While these April showers are great for helping us out of the winter drought (yes, you read that right, a winter drought in the UK of all places) I'm starting to feel they are purposely waiting for me to step out of the door before they start. At least they make my windows look pretty in the spring sunshine:

What do you do for family night? We have competitions to see who can build the tallest freestanding structure from balloons and Sellotape. I'm sure there was a gospel message in there somewhere...

A rainy day in the Easter holidays means only one thing for Rosie: an Anne of Green Gables marathon.

Dear Jay

Each year as I unwrap my man-size Easter egg I think of you and feel a teeny bit sad you can't partake of such deliciousness. Then I enjoy every last bite! Happy Easter from us (and Cadbury!) xxx

No Washing Up For Me

There's nothing quite like slicing through you knuckle with a tin can and having your mum sit you down, whip out her big first aid kit and fix you up just like when you were a child.

Best Of British

It was last year that I first heard of these British artists and I've been playing their music ever since. The weather lately has been gloriously warm and sunny and these tunes seem to fit the early spring beautifully. I thought I'd share them with you. First up is Ben Howard, with his album Every Kingdom. I love it.  He hails from Devon so that make him extra special!
