Hound Tor
After church on Sunday we decided to go for a walk in the sunshine to Hound Tor. By the time we had arrived, the infamous Dartmoor mist had started to block out the sun. Most visitors to the spot were returning down the hill to head home, but we carried on up to the tor. Noah happily struck a pose:
The children love climbing tors, they head straight for them:
Noah loves this bit of rock, there is a tiny passageway through to the other side that he likes to disappear down:
There he is, out the other side:
Ben is right at home climbing over the rocks:
There are a few rock formations on Hound Tor, plenty of different routes to explore:
I love this last photo with the sun trying to shine through the mist. Can you spot Ben and James?

Hanging Out
This afternoon, while Ben was training for the Ten Tors, we stopped at the outdoor shop. We found a climbing wall and the children got to have a go; they did a great job:
My baby is climbing!:
I think Rosie is gaining the upper hand here:
Spiderwoman is thrashing her big brother:
Nearly at the top! Ethan catches up, but Rosie would like the world to know she beat him there:
I think Noah's favourite part was jumping off the rock face...and putting the donation money for mountain rescue in the box!
All In My House I'm Gonna Let It Shine
Here's a little snippet of the crazy that happens in my kitchen on a regular basis. Noah started off with jazz hands but it soon descended into this:
Not ever one to miss out, Rosie quickly joined in:

It's All Jay's Fault
I've been crying like a girl while watching TV lately. There is a beautiful advert for tea (of all things!) that makes me tear up every time I see it. I miss my twin, that Atlantic Ocean is far too big for my liking.
Love ya Jay xxx

Another Saturday, Another Hike
On Saturday Ben was training on Dartmoor with his school for the Ten Tors Challenge next year. (The Ten Tors involves walking 35 miles and climbing ten tors over two days.) As it was a sunny day the rest of us decided to hit the moors too. We climbed a couple of tors ourselves:Admired the views:
Climbed on a gate:
Climbed some steep hills:
Admired the views from the cairn on the top:
Frolicked with our shadows:
And climbed more cairns:
We also admired a HUGE mushroom:

A perfect Saturday activity if you ask me!

Chocolate And Sparklers
Dear Jay,
Bonfire Night arrived with the appropriate foggy conditions. We decended upon Leah and Jason's house for the festivities and I brought along chocolate cake with a Lego Guy Fawkes. (Of course.) Unfortunately the orange peel 'flames' disappeared en route:
Mum cooked up a feast, and the men enjoyed setting things alight. The little cousins all covered their ears during the loud bangs:
And the big kids enjoyed their sparklers:
Noah insisted I take a photo to send to Auntie Jay:
I hope you managed to celebrate appropriately!
Love Naomi x
