Best Kept Secret

Something rather fabulous arrived at our door this weekend.  Two months ago James had an interview for his dream job as an engineer for an insurance company.  He had to be recommended by other engineers to even be able to apply for the position.  He studied and took an exam as part of the interview process and a couple of weeks later was informed that he made the top three, then that he had the job as long as they could move someone out of the area for James to work locally.  (They wanted him that much!)  Of course knowing he most likely had the job but couldn't say for sure until a contract arrived was rather torturous!  But at last the envelope we've waited for weeks to arrive is here!

James will now, for the first time in our 14 years of marriage, not be working on Saturdays!  I'm more than thrilled with that prospect!  James will work from home and visit car workshops and customers (he's essentially a loss adjuster) and will be his own boss.  I'm so proud of James, he's worked his way up from being a panel beater/painter to an estimator and body shop manager, putting himself through night college to earn qualifications in management.  He is so good at what he does that today his previous boss called him to ask him to return to work for them as things aren't so good without him there!

Maybe it's time to break out that list of things to complete that James hasn't had time to do over the years...
