My Favourite
I've made a few of my Christmas tree ornaments over the years but my favourite has to be the 'snowballs'. I made them when Ben was six months old (that's thirteen years ago!) out of wool dipped in PVA glue and wrapped around balloons. They remind me of the huge tree that we had to cut the top off to fit it in the room, a crawling baby's first Christmas, but most of all me and Jay hanging the ornaments from the clothes airer while trying not to get us and everything else covered in glue!

It's All Jay's Fault
I've been crying like a girl while watching TV lately. There is a beautiful advert for tea (of all things!) that makes me tear up every time I see it. I miss my twin, that Atlantic Ocean is far too big for my liking.
Love ya Jay xxx

Little Lovin'
I've been a little glum this last week. It's looking more likely that Jay won't make it to Amy's wedding next weekend thanks to some paperwork being held up and slow immigration officials. We haven't seen each other for almost three years and I've yet to meet my 2 year old niece... it's killing me!
It's a good job I get to do this to keep me sane:
In the meantime I'm praying for a miracle!

Christmas Smile Lines
I love Christmas, but I don't love doing Christmas solo! Noah and I have passed on our colds/chest infections to James, which has resulted in Man Flu. It's an actual condition. An explanation of sorts:
Being left to carry on regardless, I decided to make the most of things and find the joy in the madness that is Christmas in the Miles house. Last night I found Rosie had wrapped a carrot for 'Dacer the raindeer' and left it in the bottom of her stocking...
Following on from that theme... Noah made a lovely Christmas card for me at school of an angel. Every time I look at it I see glitter boobs instead of wings:
Finally, Wensleydale cheese with cranberries after the children went to bed was the perfect way to end Christmas day (sorry I can't send it to Utah Jay!):

...along with cards for the 'Elfs' and Santa. Oh, and a spiced biscuit too:
After our turkey dinner I sat down with the children to play Scrabble. My eleven year old chose to use the word porn. In his defense, he didn't know that was an alternate word for pornography, and thought it was how you spell pawn. Ben protested that Ethan couldn't use such a naughty word, but I allowed it and tried hard not to die laughing!Following on from that theme... Jay
I miss my twin like nothing else in the world. Would you like to see what she does for a living all those thousands of miles away from me? Click on this link: http://provo.org/hr.main.html and watch the second video down, 'Employee spotlight'. Her vacant looking face on the still of the video totally made my morning!

For Jay, My Other Half
Janna-Lee & Me
Happy Birthday!! You'd think that after living on separate continents for five years I would be used to not having you around... but I'm not! It feels wrong to celebrate without you, a birthday for one is lonely. I miss you lots xxx
